Summer of Groupon

:hey man, want to help me on this project:

“Wassup Mike, want to help me with this project”

A couple of months ago, I got a call from my friend Amy Anderson over at  Mod Podge Rocks and she told me about this cool summer adventure she wanted to record. She’d been picked by Groupon to participate in a blogger challenge that highlighted the many diverse activities that Groupon offers. I was a bit hesitant at first because of everything that was involved but once I heard about some of the cool activities, I was on board!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…I love beer! So when I heard that one of the Groupon activities was making beer, I couldn’t wait. I won’t get into the finer details of beer making but one thing I learned is it would make alot more sense for me to start making my own beer instead of buying it all the time. And who knows, maybe I’ll stumble upon some great beer recipe that changes the world!

I’m not gonna lie, one of the activities I want to do the most was ziplining through the forest. But unfortunately, because of my love for beer, I was over the weight limit to participate. So I had to sit this one out and watch from the sidelines…but it did motivate me to to eat less pizza (maybe).

We went glass blowing, in fact it was the first activity we went on. It was fun…crazy hot inside the warehouse but it was interesting to see how all that sand transforms into these intricate pieces. If I have the time, I could see myself making some Xmas ornaments this year.

Out of all the activities Groupon offers, the gun range made me the most nervous. I’ve never been a huge fan of guns and I’m not gonna get on a soap box here (at least not yet) but I didn’t like the confinement of shooting indoors. If it had been held outdoors, in a wide open space, I probably would have felt a little more comfortable. But it was located inside a small indoor area and I felt with every pop of a gun, I was looking over my shoulder.

Anyway, it was an exciting if not exhausting summer so if you want to hear more, check out Mod Podge Rocks or Mohans Rule for their side of the story.
